Itinerary

Day 1 / BUCHAREST ARRIVAL - ZARNESTI

Meet the driver at the airport in Bucharest and transfer to Zarnesti, the gateway to Piatra Craiului National Park. Overnight at HORA CU BRAZI 3* GUESTHOUSE.

Day 2 / BEAR AND LYNX WATCHING TOUR

On both days you will have two wildlife watching tours, one very early in the morning and one late afternoon. In the morning you will visit the local bear sanctuary and watch the bears at feeding time. In late-afternoon, together with a wildlife researcher you will hike the hills and valleys teeming with spectacular flora and fauna. This way you will be able to maximize your chances of spotting the bears and lynxes in their natural habitat before they retire in their lairs. Although the chances of spotting are quite high - 40% lynx and 90% bear, we cannot guarantee that you will see them. During the day you will have the option to relax at the guesthouse or you can choose from some extra activities (on request) like hiking and trekking, visit a traditional sheepfold or visit the medieval city of Brasov. Day 3 / HIKING IN PIATRA CRAIULUI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you will visit the Piatra Craiului National Park for an easy hike from the Gorges of Zarnesti to Magura village, where you can you can enjoy the spectacular views of the Bucegi Mountains. There is also the option to continue the hike to the Curmatura Cabin (medium-hard difficulty). If the sky is clear you can see the 25 km long limestone ridge which is also a natural reserve due to the rare species of endemic flora and fauna. Overnight at HORA CU BRAZI 3* GUESTHOUSE.

Day 4 / HIKE TO COLTII CHILIEI AND AFTERNOON BEAR WATCHING

After breakfast you will begin walking to Coltul Chiliilor, the oldest religious establishment in the Zarnesti region. Here you can also find the Coltul Chiliilor cave, used in the past to shelter locals during the Turkish invasions in the fifteenth century. On the way you will have the chance to spot different species of birds and even wildlife. The guide will also explain some of the local traditions as well as the impact of technology on traditional practices. In the afternoon you will return to Zarnesti, where during sunset you will have the chance to observe bears at a local bear hide. There is a 99% chance of spotting. Day 5 / NARCISSUS FOREST AND AFTERNOON BEAR WATCHING

After breakfast you will drive about an hour to visit Poiana Narciselor (Narcissus Forest), a 400 hectares meadow where daffodils grow. During May and June the area is particularly spectacular as all the flowers are in full blossom. You will also walk in the area to track and observe wildlife. In the afternoon you will return to Zarnesti for a late afternoon bear watching tour in the wild. Overnight at HORA CU BRAZI 3* GUESTHOUSE.

Day 6 / BRASOV CITY TOUR AND AFTERNOON BEAVER WATCHING TOUR

After breakfast you will drive to Brasov for a short city tour of the most important tourist attractions. After lunch at a traditional restaurant you will have free time to explore the old city center, shop, take photos or relax in one of the many cafes in the area. In the afternoon you will be meet your guide and drive to one of the beaver spotting areas.

In the evening you will return to the guesthouse. Overnight at HORA CU BRAZI 3* GUESTHOUSE.

Day 7 / ZARNESTI - DEPARTURE FROM BUCHAREST

After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport in Bucharest.

Observations

  • The prices are valid for 2019, except legal holidays in Romania, when additional costs may apply;
  • We will supply you with all the required company details, including the SWIFT code, in order to safely proceed with the payment;
  • Payment will be made in Euros, to the provided bank account;
  • In case of payment by credit card, the bank will perceive an extra comission of 1.6%, of the full value of the transaction;

Reservation

  • The payment will be made, as follows:
  • For the ground services, an advance payment of 30% of the full value of the package, will be made at the moment of the reservation;
  • The other 70% of the full value of the package, will be paid the latest, one month before the beginning of the services and the exact dates for the payment will be set through annexes to the contract;
  • For service confirmations received 30 days before they commence, full prepayment will be made at the moment of the confirmation;
  • If the client wishes to include also the flights in the present package, the price for the flights, will be paid in full, at the moment of their reservation;
  • Airline companies can modify the flight’s schedule or status, according to their internal organization, without any prior notice to the travel agency. TRIPTAILOR cannot be made liable for any changes in the schedule of the booked flight, which falls completely in the responsibility of the airline company.
